1. Reasons for Joining this Company

In 2010, I was a fresh graduate who just left the military service, and I entered the workplace with high expectations. I hoped that I could demonstrate my strengths and earn a stable income. KAP gave me this opportunity to work in such an environment which allows me to demonstrate my strengths and make money to support my family at the same time.

2. Current Work Content

From the beginning when I was an inexperienced engineer to the present time, I am now able to stand on my own feet and play an important role in communications between customers and the Japanese factory. Besides, I lead my team to help customers install and modify machines and improve machine stability. I also assist in the conversion of new processes.

3. Growth at Work

(1.) Opportunity to learn a foreign language:
Thanks to the working environment provided by KAP, I started from knowing nothing about the Japanese language since I first joined this company to being able to interact with the Japanese fluently. In addition, this company also offers a complete Japanese language learning program, which enables us to learn the language after work. I am currently in the process of obtaining the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) Level 2 Certificate.
(2.) Good promotion and salary adjustment mechanisms:
Through company training, improvement of personal skills and this company’s excellent promotion mechanism, I have been promoted from engineer to principal engineer within 8 years after joining this company.
(3.) Issues currently encountered:
3-1 Improve vendor score
For our customers, the value of our existence is to provide timely assistance and take the initiative to care for them, improve machine sensitivity, and continuously improve and enhance machine quality. As a major machine vendor in particular, improving our vendor score in the customer scoring system is currently an important task, thereby requiring discussions on enhancing machine stability and carrying out machine improvements.
3-2 Improve team capabilities and future development plans for personnel in the organization
To enhance customer trust toward us, the professionalism of team members plays a very important part. With the rapid development of semiconductor technologies, learning new technologies is absolutely a must. Therefore, before the introduction of new machines and new processes, appropriate arrangements must be made for personnel to undergo training, as well as to plan about how to pass related technologies to junior members.
(4.) Future expectations:
I hope to be promoted to the position of Section Manager, and successfully obtain the JLPT Level 1 Certificate.
The two goals above can be achieved through this company’s talent development program and language courses, and this company’s readily available environment in which I can tangibly work with the Japanese.

4. Working Environment at KAP

(1.) Good salary and benefits
Domestic and overseas trips make me feel happy. I feel that KAP has paid particular attention to the interaction between each employee and our families, so that our families feel safe about the fact that we are working for a good company.
(2.) Good education and training program
This company has set up a training center in Hsinchu and Tainan respectively which regularly provide our colleagues and customers with education and training, so as to improve employees’ professional knowledge. Furthermore, each employee has been provided with the opportunity to undergo training at the head office in Japan. For instance, I had the opportunity to undergo training for one month in the Toyama factory in Japan. During this period, I not only acquired knowledge on new technologies, but also improved my Japanese language skills.
In terms of language learning, this company provides subsidies for English and Japanese proficiency tests, and even offers extra monthly allowance for those who have successfully obtained language proficiency certificates.
(3.) Good division of work at departmental level
Good division of work allows all departments to demonstrate teamwork skills when assistance is required, thereby indicating that this company is a mature and stable company.
